Bowman Landes Turkeys is located in New Carlisle, which is in the Dayton, Ohio area. Drew Bowman reached out to us and a number of other solar providers about powering the farming operations and home on the property with solar panels. He was recommended to us by another farm we had helped with their clean energy transition. After some back and forth, Gold Path Solar was trusted with the project to meet the growing energy demands of a massive turkey operation that raises and processes tens of thousands of free range birds each year.

The project consists of 1,044 QCell 585w bifacial panels and SolarEdge 3 phase commercial inverters, which will produce enough power to supply 115% of the current kWh demand from the farm. This also included future energy demand growth from the future farm expansion. This large project’s complexities, including a metal roof and locations of the service panels and meter, as well as coordinating a transformer upgrade and recloser installation were no match for the installation and project management teams at GPS. The utility, Applied Energy Services (AES) actually provided permission to operate (PTO) prior to installation, so this project was able to be turned on the day the installation was completed and commissioned!
