Fisher Farms Case Study

Location: Piqua, OH

System size: 40.5 kW

Product: QCELL 405 Watt

Production: 24 MWH per year

Number of Solar Panels: 100

Fisher Farms is located in Piqua, which is in the Dayton, Ohio area. Wade at Fisher Farms reached out to us and a number of other solar providers about powering the farming operations and home on the property with solar panels. After some back and forth, Gold Path Solar was trusted with the project to meet the growing energy demands that comes with a small but growing family farm.

The project consists of 100 QCell 405w panels and Enphase IQ8+ microinverters, which will produce enough power to supply 110% of the current kWh demand from the farm. This also included future energy demand growth from the greenhouse shown to the far right of the picture. This large project’s complexities, including a metal roof and locations of the main service panel and meter, were no match for the installation crew. From start to finish, the solar array took the installation crew 2 days to complete. The utility, Applied Energy Services (AES) actually provided permission to operate (PTO) prior to installation, so this project was able to be turned on the day the installation was completed and commissioned!
